FAQ´s
¿Family? I have five Spanish brothers and sisters. Two sisters, Christina (20) and Maribel (24) and three brothers Jesús (16), Antonio (13) and Pablo (11)
¿Does Marissa´s family speak English? No. Christina knows some English words, but does not know how to speak English. So far there has not been a problem with understanding and my Spanish is slowly improving so I don´t think there will be a problem.
¿Where does Marissa live? I live in an apartment and I do have my own bedroom. The building is a few years old so it is a nice apartment. No wood floors, all school-like tile flooring in the whole apartment. The girls share a room, the boys share a room, but I believe Palbo sleeps with Paqui.
¿Food? I usually eat fruit and yogurt for breakfast, sometimes toast. Lunch is between 2-3 pm. Sometimes I do not come home for lunch and Paqui gives me a bocodillo (sandwich) to bring to school. Dinner is usually between 9-10 pm. I really like the food in here and Paqui´s cooking. Here are some of my favorite dishes from Paqui: tortilla española (an omelete cake with potatoes and onions), paella in all forms, lentil soup, garbanzo soup, tostada con tomate (toast with grated tomato and olive oil), and one of my favorite things is bizcocho (an unexplainable amazing cake)
¿School? Yes, I do actually go to class and everything is in Spanish. School here reminds me of high school because I know everyone and most of us are at school all day. I have class from 10 am until 2:30 pm with a break in the middle. On Tuesdays and Thursdays I have a class in the afternoon. The classes are not difficult, with Linguistics as the exception. It is a whole new concept for me and right now I find it hard. Next semester I plan to take classes at the University and I know it is going to be hard.
